Who we are

Department for International Cooperation (Folkuniversitetet, Uppsala) was established in 1998 in order to make a Folkuniversitetet active in European affairs concerning education, training, labour market initiatives and civic society actions.

Our mission is to act as agent for transfer of innovation between Folkuniversitetet and cross boarder bodies by initiating own projects or participating in transnational activities coordinated by others.

Since the creation of the department, Folkuniversitetet has successfully initiated and completed more than 30 different projects in vocational and adult education, integration policy and empowerment. Furthermore, the department has participated in more than 20 projects as a partner in the field of education, integration, and age management.

Main areas for cooperation are:

  • Labour market initiatives (efficiency, policy development)
  • Liberal adult education (integration of minority groups, gender equality)
  • Civic society development
