INclusive TrAIners
Promoting ethical, inclusive and human-centred artificial intelligence in vocational education and training
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we learn, teach and work, creating new opportunities for education and professional development. However, the growing use of AI also raises important challenges related to fairness, transparency, accessibility and equal opportunities.
INclusive TrAIners is an Erasmus+ project that aims to support trainers in Continuing Vocational Education and Training (CVET) in using artificial intelligence ethically, responsibly and inclusively.
The project focuses on equipping educators with the knowledge, skills and practical resources needed to integrate AI into their teaching practices while preventing discrimination, reducing algorithmic bias and ensuring equal learning opportunities for all, particularly learners from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups.
Through international cooperation, INclusive TrAIners brings together six organisations from Spain, Sweden, Italy, Portugal and Poland to develop innovative educational resources and promote a more inclusive digital transformation of vocational education and training.
Project Objectives
The main objectives of INclusive TrAIners are:
1. To strengthen CVET trainers' knowledge and understanding of ethical principles and European guidelines related to the responsible use of artificial intelligence in education.
2. To equip trainers with the digital and pedagogical skills needed to integrate AI tools effectively, critically and responsibly into teaching and learning.
3. To promote equal opportunities and prevent discrimination and algorithmic bias, particularly when working with vulnerable and underrepresented learners.
4. To support the development of inclusive AI-powered educational materials, personalised learning pathways and career guidance resources.
5. To strengthen the role of educators in ensuring that AI supports human-centred learning rather than replacing human interaction and professional judgement.
6. To encourage European cooperation and the exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices in ethical AI integration in vocational education and training.
Project Results
The project focuses on developing three main educational resources:
1. INclusive TrAIners Open Training Platform
An accessible online learning platform offering educational modules and resources to help CVET trainers understand and apply ethical principles when using artificial intelligence in their teaching practices.
2. Virtual Lab on Ethics and Diversity in AI
An interactive learning environment featuring practical scenarios, challenges and exercises that enable trainers to explore ethical dilemmas and develop responsible approaches to AI integration in vocational education.
3. Digital AI Resources Bank
A collection of digital tools, practical resources and guidance materials supporting trainers in selecting and using AI technologies in ways that promote inclusion, fairness and equal opportunities.
The project resources are intended to be freely accessible online and available in the languages of the participating countries to support their wider use across Europe.
European Partnership
INclusive TrAIners is implemented by six partner organisations from five European countries:
· Diputación Foral de Álava – Spain (Project Coordinator)
· Media Creativa 2020 – Spain
· CNIPA Puglia – Italy
· Sparkling Intuition – Portugal
· Fundacja Małopolska Izba Samorządowa – Poland
· Folkuniversitetet Uppsala – Sweden
Folkuniversitetet is responsible for leading the project's dissemination and sustainability activities, helping ensure that the results reach educators, training institutions and other relevant stakeholders across Europe.
