Curios about drones?

Föreläsningar och samtal Plats Karlskoga

How do you build a drone—and how do you get it to make its own decisions? This free lecture offers an introduction to autonomous systems and the technology of the future. After the lecture, you can continue in a study circle where you will build a drone to be donated to Ukraine. Pre-registration is required!

Boka nu

For beginners

No prior knowledge is required. The lecture is suitable for anyone curious about technology and autonomous systems. The lecture will be held in English.

Content

The lecture provides an introduction to the fundamentals of drone building and autonomous systems, drawing on a drone-building study circle previously conducted by Folkuniversitetet at Örebro University. The focus is on the architecture of a modern autonomous platform, the necessary components, and how theory is translated into practical work.

Lecturer

David Baxter is a PhD student at Örebro University within the prestigious Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP). Driven by curiosity, he aims to make advanced topics accessible and engaging for everyone.

Venue

Kulturcentrum Berget, Degerfors.

Pre-registrate

The lecture is free of charge, but advance registration is required — click "Boka nu" to sign up!

Continue in a pracitcal study circle

Do you want to move from theory to practice? After the lecture, you have the opportunity to join a hands-on study circle where you will build a drone from scratch. No prior knowledge is needed—just your curiosity! The completed drone will then be donated to Ukraine as part of an initiative combining technology and solidarity. Read more and sign up for the study circle here.

Help us donate drones to Ukraine

Folkuniversitetet is seeking donations to purchase components for building drones, which will then be donated to Ukraine. Every contribution—large or small—helps build more drones and send them where they are needed most. Send your contribution via Swish to 1231535129 and mark the payment "Drones for Ukraine".

Join an initiative where curiosity, technology, and compassion take flight together!

Kursledare

David Baxter
