Build a Drone

Plats Karlskoga

Are you curious about how drones work and want to learn how to build one from scratch? In this free study circle, you will learn step-by-step how to assemble a drone, while gaining insight into how autonomous systems function. As an added dimension, the completed drone will be donated to Ukraine.

For beginners

No prior knowledge is required. The course is suitable for anyone interested in technology and technical innovation. The study circle is conducted primarily in English, as that is the leader's native language, but it is fine to alternate with Swedish.

Goal

The goal of the course is to provide you with practical skills in drone assembly and a basic understanding of autonomous systems, while allowing you to contribute to an important cause for people in need.

Content

During the course, you will:

  • Learn about drone components and functions
  • Assemble a drone step-by-step
  • Understand the basics of autonomous systems
  • Find inspiration for further technical creation

How

The course begins with a free lecture, open to the public, providing a theoretical background on drone technology and autonomous systems. This is followed by two practical workshops (maximum six participants) where you will build the drone together under the guidance of David Baxter, a doctoral student at Örebro University.

Circle leader

David Baxter is a doctoral student within the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP) at Örebro University. He is passionate about making technically advanced subjects accessible and inspiring for everyone.

Donate

To purchase components for the drone build and subsequently donate them to Ukraine, we need donations. There is no requirement to donate in order to participate in the circle. Everyone is welcome to donate via Swish number 1231535129; please mark your payment "Drones for Ukraine”.

Seize the opportunity to be part of this unique collaboration where curiosity, technology, and compassion come together!

Kursledare

David Baxter
