Prerequisites
Beginners and experienced painters alike. No prior knowledge is required. Beginners will receive an introduction to figurative painting and an orientation in different materials and techniques. Instruction is individualized, with guidance based on each participant’s level.
Our art courses are open to participants aged 16 and up.
Objectives
This course emphasizes process and learning rather than finished results. After completing the course, you will have developed your visual perception, gained increased knowledge of figurative painting and artistic expression, and strengthened your motivation to continue working independently.
Content
You will learn various techniques for figurative painting to develop your own artistic expression. We work with various techniques and materials, focusing on composition, colour mixing, and tonal values, while also looking at examples from art history to inspire the exploration of different forms of expression.
Teaching method
Theory and practical exercises as well as individual feedback based on each participant’s level. Group size is approximately 4–6 participants.
Materials
Bring your own oil paper, sketch paper (preferably A3), canvas panel/board or stretched canvas, brushes, water-mixable oil paints, charcoal, and kneaded eraser. Acrylic paints and oil pastels are available in the studio. Due to our environmental policy, only art materials that do not contain cadmium or solvents may be used in our facilities.
Further Development
After the course, you may continue with other courses offered by the instructor.

- Please note that the course will pause during weeks 44–45. There will be no classes on October 26 or November 2.
