Block Printing with Social Impact
Would you like to explore a timeless craft while supporting social change? In this 2-hour block printing course, you’ll create with purpose and care in a small group of up to 10 participants. The course is led by Jitna Bhagani, founder of Shakti.ism – a social enterprise that provides employment opportunities for women in disadvantaged communities.

- Introduction to Shakti.ism’s mission and social impact, empowering women artisans across South Asia
- The history and tradition of block printing, one of the world’s oldest and most beautiful textile traditions
- Experimenting with hand-carved wooden blocks and eco-friendly inks
- Designing your own piece on a tea towel, tote bag, or cushion cover, all lovingly crafted by our artisan partners in India
- Expert tips on techniques and tools
- A warm, creative community atmosphere – and a meaningful handmade piece to take home or gift
Course structure
This is a hands-on course where you’ll receive guidance from the instructor. All materials and tools are provided, so just bring your curiosity and love for creating.

No prior experience is needed. This course is perfect for anyone curious and eager to create.
