Welcome to the second session of Security Labs – Security Meetup's educational initiative offering free, practical sessions across cybersecurity and information security.
Security Meetup is built around three areas: networking through our meetups, knowledge sharing through articles and interviews, and education through Security Labs. Security Labs will run continuously, covering different topics together with guest speakers from across the security community.
For this session our guest speaker Bejamin Svensson will help us explore the world of penetration testing, also known as pentesting.
Pentesting involves simulating real-world cyberattacks as a way to identify vulnerabilities in systems, networks and applications. These tests normally require authorization from the client and the pentester can perform the task within the scope that is defined and when the permission is granted.
The goal is to uncover these vulnerabilities before malicious actors can take advantage of them and provide practical and useful advice on how to strengthen the security posture.
By thinking and acting like an attacker you can also become a better defender.
