Security Meetup is a non-profit association dedicated to strengthening the Swedish cybersecurity community through openness, neutrality, and knowledge-sharing. We create inclusive, neutral spaces where students, career changers, professionals, and leaders can meet, learn, and grow together. One of the main pillars of this initiative is:

Security Labs which is our cybersecurity study group is a collaborative space focused on proactive learning, shared experience, and continuous growth. We explore real-world threats, security fundamentals, and emerging technologies together to stay ahead of an evolving threat landscape.

Members actively share knowledge, tools, and lessons learned from hands-on practice and professional experience. Through discussion, experimentation, and problem-solving, we strengthen both technical skills and security mindset. Our goal is to grow as individuals while building a strong, supportive cybersecurity community.

THIS SESSION IS ABOUT: OFFENSIVE SECURITY

Join us for a hands-on session built around OffSec’s Proving Grounds. We’ll start with a short talk on upskilling in offensive security, how to approach lab machines, and how to get more out of practice time.

After that, we’ll work through a couple of boxes together and walk through the thinking behind each step.
Expect practical methodology, shared problem-solving, and a few rabbit holes along the way.

Offensive security focuses on proactively attacking systems using ethical hacking techniques to test defenses. It helps organizations understand how adversaries think and strengthens their ability to detect and respond to threats.
