Is this course for you?

Understanding the Swedish job market extends beyond submitting applications. Success often depends on navigating workplace culture, communicating your strengths effectively, and building a professional network that can open doors to new opportunities. If you have completed Part 1, or are seeking the next step in your career journey, this program is designed to help you move from job searching to confidently presenting your value in the Swedish labor market.

This program may be particularly relevant if you:

  • have professional qualifications or previous work experience.
  • have lived in Sweden for some time and are actively seeking employment.
  • have been looking for work for six months or longer.
  • want to strengthen your interview and communication skills.
  • would like to better understand Swedish workplace culture and professional expectations.
  • are interested in expanding your professional network and building lasting connections.

Course overview

Sweden faces a significant labor market paradox: while many employers struggle to find qualified talent, thousands of skilled international women remain underrepresented in the workforce. The challenge is often not a lack of competence, but understanding how to communicate skills, navigate recruitment processes, and build professional relationships within a new cultural context.

This program is designed specifically for foreign-born women who are ready to take the next step in their professional journey. By combining practical career-development strategies with AI-powered tools, participants will learn how to present their experience, prepare for interviews, expand their networks, and better understand the cultural nuances of Swedish working life. Most importantly, what can often feel like an isolating job-search process, our collaborative learning experience involves women supporting, encouraging, and learning from one another.

What you will learn?

Through a practical and supportive learning approach, participants will focus on five main goals:

  • Communicate Your Achievements with Confidence

Learn how to structure and present your professional accomplishments using the STAR framework (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Develop compelling examples that highlight your impact while aligning with Swedish communication styles and workplace expectations.

  • Practice Interviews with AI-Powered Tools

Build confidence in interviews through realistic practice sessions using accessible AI tools. Learn techniques for responding to common interview questions, reducing language-related stress, and communicating your experience more effectively.

  • Strengthen Your LinkedIn Presence

Optimize your LinkedIn profile to increase visibility among recruiters and hiring managers. Learn how to present your skills, experience, and professional brand in a way that resonates with the Swedish labor market.

  • Master Professional Networking in Sweden

Gain confidence in building authentic professional relationships. Learn how to navigate Sweden's collaborative workplace culture, engage in networking conversations, and use both online and in-person opportunities to expand your network.

  • Build a Sustainable Support Network

Develop lasting peer connections through participant-led groups. Share insights, exchange feedback, celebrate progress, and create a network of support that extends beyond the program itself.

Learning format

We continue to meet in small, supportive peer-learning groups that encourage collaboration, reflection, and practical application. Sessions combine presentations, facilitated discussions, interactive exercises, and hands-on practice, with opportunities for feedback, coaching, and peer learning throughout.

Prerequisites

To make the most of the program, participants should:

  • Be open to sharing experiences and engaging in collaborative learning.
  • Feel comfortable communicating and participating in discussions in English.
  • Have a willingness to explore new tools and technologies.
