Develop your Swedish further. Swedish A2 is fast paced and taught in Swedish. You will work on your vocabulary, grammar and communicative skills. This is a Distans Live cours - held entirely online in a small group. This is a full length A2-course consisting of 56 studying hours that gives you the full base for B1.

Swedish A2 – About the course

This course is for learners who have already begun studying Swedish and want to build on their foundation. A2 is suitable for those who have completed A1 or have equivalent basic skills. You will further develop your ability to communicate in a wider range of everyday situations and deepen your understanding of Swedish language and culture.

Course Content

A2 expands your vocabulary and grammar, enabling you to express yourself in more detailed conversations and to understand more complex instructions and texts. You will practice describing experiences, expressing opinions, and handling practical matters in Swedish society.

Examples of topics covered:

  • More advanced greetings and conversation
  • Describing personal experiences, preferences, and routines
  • Handling everyday scenarios such as travel, appointments, and social events
  • Detailed work with reading and writing
  • Further numbers, dates, and time expressions
  • Giving and receiving directions with more detail
  • Deeper exploration of Swedish grammar
  • Insights into Swedish society and cultural norms

Work methods

As in A1, teaching is adapted to student needs. You are expected to engage actively and complete weekly assignments. Lessons are interactive, with varied activities led by experienced native-speaking trainers. Group size is limited to 12 participants. You need a computer, internet, head-set and a calm space to follow the course.

We use Rivstart A1+A2, chapters 11–20, including digital materials. Some chapters are studied independently.

Detailed information will be sent by email about a week before the course begins.

Summary of Key Differences between A2 and A1:

  • A2 is for those with some basic Swedish knowledge. A1 is for complete beginners; 
  • A2 builds on this for more complex situations. A1 covers the first steps in communication;
  • A2 uses chapters 11–20. A1 uses chapters 1–10 of the textbook;
