Location
The course takes place at our school at Norra Allégatan 6 in Göteborg, near the tram/bus stop "Järntorget".
Target group
Students with no previous knowledge of the Swedish language.
Aim of the course
To know basic Swedish for everyday situations.
Course content
- simple ways of introducing yourself, greetings, shopping, ordering, asking for information etc.
- numbers and time
- reading and writing simple texts and messages
- word order
- Swedish culture and society
- Swedish intonation
The teaching is in Swedish from the start and the main focus is on oral communication. You are expected to take an active part in the lessons and your thoughts on various topics are an integral part of the course.
Course literature
Rivstart A1+A2 by Paula Levy Scherrer and Karl Lindemalm, third edition, revision 3 (text and exercise book). Course books are not included in the course fee.
Answer keys and online exercises for the book are available at portal.nok.se/rivstart. On this portal you create your free account.

Lars Axelsson
Jag heter Lars Axelsson och har i många år varit lärare i svenska på Folkuniversitetet. Även andra yrken har jag prövat på: som till exempel sågverksarbetare, grönsaksförsäljare, turistguide och översättare.
Mina stora intressen är resor, språk och människor. Jag anser muntlig kommunikation, i grupp eller mellan två personer, vara nyckeln till en snabb och effektiv språkinlärning. De flesta andra språkliga färdigheter kan man tillägna sig ensam på sin kammare.
