This pre-university course will help with a smooth transition into university ensuring you have the range of communication skills to cope with and participate actively in your academic work. You will improve general as well as academic English skills in a supportive and language-focused environment.
Who is this course for?
You should be at level B2-C1 on the Council of Europe Scale to take this online course.If you are unsure of your level, please take our web-based language level test.
Aims
The course will focus on:
- Improving your spoken English
- Academic writing: essays, reports and analyses
- Listening skills for lectures and seminars
- Academic discussion and presentations
- Reading for gist/ reading for detail
- Specific language skills for university studies
Working methods
We work on reading, writing and listening in class but our focus is on verbal communication.
Both pair-work and group discussion are an important part of practice and are encouraged throughout the course. You will be given homework for further practice during the course.
Course book
The teacher will give you information about the course material at the first lesson in order to make sure you are at the correct level before buying a book. Please note that course material is not included in the course fee.

I am originally from England and have been living in Sweden since 2020. My family and I have also lived in Singapore, Switzerland and Norway. Life has been an adventure and now it continues in Sweden!
