Climate Fresk is a non-profit organization aimed at raising public awareness about climate change. Since the NGO was created in France in 2018, over 2 million people in more than 160 countries have participated in a Climate Fresk workshop.
Prerequisites
The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with prior knowledge of climate issues.
Goal
The goal of this workshop is to help you interpret and understand the causes of climate change, recognize the link between human activity and its impact on the climate, and reflect on actions at both individual and group levels.
Content
Based on the latest scientific findings from the IPCC, the workshop explains why the climate is changing at its current pace and the consequences of these disruptions.
Topics covered include:
- Causes of climate change.
- Human activities driving emissions.
- Impacts on nature, society, and people.
- The connection between climate and biodiversity.
Course structure
You will work in a group of 4–8 participants guided by a trained facilitator. Using 42 cards based on IPCC research, you will collaboratively create a map of climate challenges and opportunities. The focus is on discussion and teamwork to foster a deeper understanding.
Additional information
The workshop is free of charge but has a limited number of spots. Pre-registration is required.
After completing the workshop, you will have the opportunity to train as a Climate Fresk facilitator and share this knowledge in schools, organizations, and other settings.
