The course requires cooperation and decision-making, as well as the ability to write and edit relatively quickly. Editorial and book production roles are divided amongst participants. If the group decides to go to print, participants cooperated financially on the nominal costs and logistical issues of print-on-demand. (The cost, in that case will be approximately 300kr for each participant.)
Course goals:
• gain experience writing for publication
• gain experience working with editors
• gain experience editing fiction
• learn strategies for planning and managing time as a writer
• enjoy working with others in the early stages of their writing careers
• become part of a network of local writers working in this field
• contribute to the field of local literature
Schedule: The group meets five Wednesdays, 6-8:30 pm, about once every three weeks, with an optional release evening which is not part of the course itself.

Prerequisites
Creative Writing Intro Course and Creative Writing II, or writing audition (entrance through a sample of original fiction to kevin.frato@folkuniversitetet.se).
Target group
Writers with a working knowledge of English interested in amateur publication, who are interested in honing their skills on a smaller stage.

Teacher
Kevin Frato is an author and educator originally from Ohio, USA. He has published fiction and non-fiction with Natur och Kultur, Myrios novell förlag, X-Publishing, and Kabusa Böcker. He is the main-author of Natur och Kultur’s long-running Echo series of English readers (stories and non-fiction at the upper-secondary level), which has been reprinted yearly since 2013 and is now in its second edition, revised and with many new stories. He has also worked as a journalist in the US and Sweden, as well as a free-lance editor, voice-actor, proofreader, and translator.

Kevin Frato teaches creative writing courses in English at Skrivarakademin.
Kevin Frato is from the USA and has lived in Stockholm since 1998. He has published several books with Swedish publishers Natur och Kultur and Kabusa Böcker, and also written for newspapers and magazines in the US and Sweden.
