Anna Valev was educated at the Royal Swedish Ballet School. After completing her studies she was employed by the Royal Swedish Ballet and was promoted to soloist and shortly after principal dancer. During her 26 year long career Valev has danced all the classical and dramatic leading roles such as Odette/Odile in Swanlake, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Juliette in Romeo and Juliette, Niki in La Bayadere, Tatiana in Onegin, Katarina in Taming of the Shrew, Giselle, Miss Julie among others. Her width as a dancer has also made her popular among contemporary choreographers like Mats Ek, Örjan Andersson, Pontus Lidberg, Nacho Duato, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe and others.
Together with RSB she has toured in Spain, Ireland, Japan, China and USA. She has also been invited as a guest artist in Italy, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Switzerland, New Zealand and others. She is currently teaching classical ballet in Sweden but also as an international guest teacher.
Level:
Beginners 2-3, for participants over 13 years of age with basic skills.
