Joakim Stephenson trained at the Royal Swedish Ballet School (1983–1991) and joined the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1991, becoming a soloist in 2007. He performed with Ballet Monte Carlo (2008–2009) and later guested with the Hong Kong Ballet. After retiring in 2016, he became an ABT Certified Teacher and has taught at various renowned companies including Cincinnati Ballet, Istanbul State Ballet, and Estonian National Ballet.
Joakim has choreographed for the Royal Swedish Opera, Kulturhuset in Stockholm, and various dance schools in Sweden, Turkey, and Belgium. His work includes choreographing Loreen’s "Statements" for Eurovision and creating a dance film for Princess Estelle’s Cultural Foundation. He has also contributed choreography to international film festivals.
Level:
Intermediate - for intermediate participants, vocational students and professional dancers over 13 years of age.
