Antonia Franceschi was one of the last generations selected by George Balanchine to join The New York City Ballet, and is a Time Out Award winner for Outstanding Achievement In Dance.
She's had works Created for her by Balanchine, Robbins, Martins, McGregor, Baldwin, Clarke, Phillips, Lucovich, Armitage and Van Laast. She starred in Fame and performed The Vagina Monologues, and wrote Up From The Waste (Soho Theatre), and POP8 (The Lion & Unicorn Theatre). Antonia was a judge on The BBC's Young Dancer Competition.
She formed her Company AFD 'Just Dance' to sold out performances at The Valetta's Opera House Malta and The Royal Winchester UK.
Antonia is an award winning producer of The New York Ballet Stars (The Royal Festival Hall, The Queen Elizabeth Hall), and toured Harrogate and the Sintra Festival.
She has choreographed for several European and American companies most recently she had two NY premiers, She Holds Out Her Hand with The New York Theater Balet collaborating with Claire Van Kampen and Say My Name, Barnard/Columbia Dancers with Composers Karen Le Frak and Allen Shawn. Recently she choreographed Othello at The Globe Theater in London directed by Claire Van Kampen and was Movement Directer for The Other Place at The Park Theatre. This April Antonia will present a piece at the 92 st Y.

Influenced by Hilary Cartwright (Yoga for Dancers) Julio Horvath (gyrotonics) , Margaritte Wesley (Rommett Floorebarre) and voicework, (Globe Theatre London). A deep sensitive warm up for all ages and capacities as well as strengthening and expanding the instrument for all forms of Danse and theater work.
