Purpose and goals
In this course you will learn how to communicate across cultures to avoid miscommunication and misinterpretation.
Understanding multicultural nonverbal cues, and working together to convey ideas across cultural divides.
The sessions are held in small groups and contain a combination of theory, power points, conversations and practical exercises.

Who is the course for?
The course is aimed at those who:
- have been looking for a job for at least 6 months
- are looking to build upon a shorter educational background
- are a foreign-born woman that has lived in Sweden for some time
- want to understand Cross-Cultural Communication in work life to improve your situation
Prerequisites
A B2 level proficiency in English is required, (CEFR self-assessment grids), as all course materials and instruction will be provided in English.
Course structure
The course runs for three weeks with 3 meetings per week.

Course certificate
A course certificate can be provided upon request.
To qualify for a certificate, you must attend at least 75% of the sessions.
Course leader
Kimberly Andersson is a consultant at Folkuniversitetet and works helping women broaden their network by gaining support and security from their local community.
Having made the journey of being new in a foreign country herself, she knows what that experience entails.
As a coach, speaker, and consultant, her work focuses on foreign-born women, multicultural integration, and addressing cross-cultural codes, as well as DEI approaches.
These elements often play a key role in navigating personal and professional life in Sweden. She has worked with newly arrived international women, international students, international business professionals and international job seekers in both the public and private sectors, as well as NGOs and non-profit organizations.
