Neha Jain
Lärare: Franska, Hindi
My name is Neha Jain and I come from Varanasi, India. Mark Twain declared my birthplace, 'older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend'. As a cosmopolitan city with a heart of tradition, I grew up listening to a number of languages and developed an inclination towards French which was at once the language of diplomacy and romance. This was a surprise in a family where my grandfather and mother had given me a solid foundation in Sanskrit and Hindi language.
I studied the French language for almost ten years to complete my Doctorate in French Literature while working with students in Bachelor’s programme and adult learners. I have taught true beginners, advanced learners and learners with specific professional goals such as Français des affaires or Commercial French. I believe that a good teacher is also a good learner constantly evolving with the facilities available, taking into account the needs of each student.
I have been told that my classes are interesting and spark the curiosity of the student to explore further possibilities in the language. They are geared towards building up the confidence in all four aptitudes: reading, listening, writing and comprehending. I employ games, audio-visual methods, communicative approach, music and role play in order to facilitate language acquisition. The end goal of a teacher is to deliver an autonomous learner, in other words to make his role obsolete.
During my Ph.D, I was offered a scholarship to meet the authors I was working on in Canada. In my spare time, I continue to keep in touch with good literature, listen to music, swim, cook and go for long walks.
Looking forward to our first class!
