Learning a foreign language is best done in the country where it is spoken. By studying Swedish at Folkuniversitetet you benefit from our long experience of teaching Swedish which dates back to the late 1960s.

Our teachers are highly qualified native speakers with experience of working with foreign students. The courses are designed for adults who place high demands on quality and professionalism. The main emphasis is on spoken communication.

Our courses are divided into levels according to the Council of Europe scale (see link above). The idea is that students, language teachers and employers all over Europe will be able to refer to a common scale. You can identify your level with the help of this scale, but to make sure that you find the right course we recommend that you do a language test. This can be downloaded here.

Which course should I take?

Here you can download and print out our placement tests. They will help you to know the level of your language skills. Fill in the gaps in the questionnaire. Correct your answers using the key at the back of the questionnaire and add up your result. To find out your level, compare your result with the scale of levels.

• If you have a good previous knowledge of Swedish, skip Test A.
• If you score 33 or more in Test A, continue with Test B.
• If you score 33 or more in Test B, continue with Test C.

Note that the test is in Swedish and that in Test A, some questions have 4 parts. In that case you must get all points correct to count 1 point.

Vilken kurs ska jag gå?

Folkuniversitetets språkkurser följer Europarådets referensram för språk. Ladda hem Folkuniversitetets språktest med facit i pdf-format för att hitta vilken nivå du är på. Du kan själv rätta dem och se vilken nivå du hamnade på. Skriv ut pdf-filen och skriv dina svar direkt i testet. Jämför sedan svaren mot facit samt räkna ihop ditt resultat. För att komma fram till din nivå, jämför dina poäng mot nivåtabellen på sista sidan i testet.

• Om du har goda förkunskaper i språket, hoppa över Test A
• Om du har fler än 33 rätt i Test A, fortsätt till Test B
• Om du har fler än 33 rätt i Test B, fortsätt till Test C

OBS! I test A har vissa frågor fyra delfrågor. Du behöver då få rätt på alla fyra delfrågor för att få ett poäng.
