Andreas Erbrink Modern Jazz Intensive Intermediate
Andreas Erbrink was educated at the Professional Dancer's Education at Balettakademien in Stockholm where he graduated in 2003. He then had further training in New York and London.
As a dancer Andreas has worked in many different styles and environments, including casinos, circuses, cruise ships around the world, on tour and at institutions. He has worked with modern dance, jazz, musical and shows. Some choreographers Andreas has worked with are Lisa-Marie Bertoni, Lars Bethke, Julia Ehrstrand, Camilla Ekelöf, Denise Holland Bethke, Destiny af Kleen, Carl White and Wendy White.
As a dance educator, Andreas works at Balettakademien and teaches at the professional dance education, dance program, and on the courses. He also works at DOCH - Dance and Circus University part of Stockholm University of the Arts. He has worked at several colleges’ program of dance, and taught in Great Britain, Ireland and Lithuania.
The class begins with a flowing warm up with functional exercises that prepare for further work. Placement, coordination, balance and strength. Challenging phrases with some floor work. We experiment with weight, weight shift, pulse and deep movements in a flow, versus short quick sharp movements. Some specific concepts we work with are: sharp but flowing, strong and relaxed, drop and recover. Focus is both on how it feels and how it looks.
Level:Intermediate (Balettakademien level F/M) for intermediate participants over 13 years of age, vocational students and professional dancers.
This course is held for two weeks and is based on daily attendance. Application can be made for one week at a time or the entire course.
