Xenia Horvath was accepted into the national ballet school in Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia) at the age of 9. In addition to dancing, she began teaching classical ballet at the age of 17 and, after developing a special interest in flamenco, she also started blending ballet with flamenco. Xenia has collaborated with various dance companies and theaters both as a dancer and as a choreographer. Since moving to Sweden in 2014, she has been offering classes in various dance styles, as well as running a fitness studio. Xenia has been working at Sturebadet in Stockholm since 2016, where she leads a wide variety of classes and has also developed her unique dance concept, Ballet Flow.
Ballet flow - a slightly freer ballet concept for 50+ OPEN
The Ballet Flow class is a unique experience, emphasizing the joy that ballet dancing brings. After warming up with elements of both classical and contemporary ballet, we dance in short choreographies featuring ballet variations like waltzes and pirouettes, set to inspiring music from famous ballets. Pedagogically, the class emphasizes allowing the body to discover its path through the movements, while also providing pulse-raising fitness. Ballet flow serves as a complement to more technique-oriented classes, enhancing dance fluency, and is also suitable for those who desire an energetic dance experience and cardiovascular fitness. The class requires at least two semesters of prior knowledge of dancing ballet and is suitable for BEG 2-3 and INT.
Level: For participants over 50 years of age with at least two semesters of prior knowledge of dancing ballet.
