The human figure is the most difficult thing to draw. However, this course will through simple exercises in different techniques make it seem easy. The goal of this course is to help you feel confident sketching human figures and develop your own personal style with expressive and dynamic sketches.
After just five sessions and 20 minutes of practice a day, you will soon feel a sense of freedom in your art and a growing desire to create more!

Content
During the course, you will learn:
• How to sketch human figures without using the classic construction method.
• Daily 20-minute exercises to build your "drawing muscles."
• How to draw human figures using pencil, charcoal, black ink, and gouache paint.
• How to create expressive figures full of movement and life.
Course structure
The course consists of five lessons in small, friendly groups. Each session introduces a new technique, which you’ll practice in class under the guidance of your instructor. Between lessons, you’ll practice at home for 20 minutes a day. Each lesson builds upon the previous one. Starting with pencil and charcoal, you’ll progress to bold and colorful sketches of the human figure.
The course is held in English.

Material
The cost of material is not included in the course price. The course material needed is: a graphite pencil with softness B6 - B8, black ink, two brushes, A4 watercolour paper, and a simple gouache paint set. For the first lesson, bring a graphite pencil!
About the course leader
Violetta Borigards received her art education in Ukraine, at the Lviv Academy of Printing, as well as through in-person intensive courses at the British Higher School of Art and Design.
After her studies, she worked across various fields of visual arts: advertising photography, design, video production, fashion photography, food styling, texturing game scenes, and creating characters for video games. In 2014, she became a children’s book illustrator. Her work was represented by the UK-based agency Advocate Art. Over four years of collaboration with international publishers, she illustrated 17 books.
One of Violetta’s most unique qualities is how contagious her passion for creativity is. Thanks to this, she has built many artistic communities — for example, launching regular sketching clubs in different cities across Ukraine.
Violetta has been immersed in art all her life. She’s explored many different techniques, is skilled in academic drawing and painting, and is also fluent in digital image-making. These days, she prefers working with tactile materials and mixed media techniques.
