Joseph Andrew Lake
Joseph teaches harmony, ear training, notation and pedagogical resource.
Joseph Andrew Lake (b. 1979, San Francisco, California) received a B.A., Magna cum laude, in Music and Classics from Harvard University and an M.F.A. in Experimental Sound Practices from the California Institute of the Arts. In 2013 he completed a Meisterschüler in Composition with Mark Andre at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden with support of a Fulbright Scholarship (2011—2012) and DAAD Stipendium (2012—2013). In 2018 he completed his doctoral studies at the University at Buffalo in the composition studio of David Felder.
He has participitated in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Composer Institute, Schloss Solitude Summer Academy, Acanthes Atelier de Compositions, June in Buffalo Festival, Donaueschingen "Off-Programm", Dogstar Orchestra Festival, Center for Experiments in Art, Information, and Technology (CEAIT) Festival, and StallArte Festival. His music has been played by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Dresdner Philharmonie, Ensemble Recherche, Ensemble musikFabrik, Ensemble SurPlus, JACK Quartet, Norrbotten NEO, among others.
