Specific requirements

In addition to general eligibility, you must provide proof of the following:

  • Work experience: At least 1 year of full-time employment (or equivalent part-time) within the food industry, such as in primary production, processing, distribution, sales, service, or food safety.

Documents to Include in Your Application

If you have a foreign upper secondary education, the documents must be translated and validated.

Recognition of prior learning (Reell kompetens)

If you do not meet the formal general or specific eligibility criteria, you may apply based on recognition of prior learning.

This refers to the actual competence you have, regardless of how, when, or where it was acquired. Your experience could come from work, volunteer activities, academic studies (foreign academic merits must be validated by UHR – the Swedish Council for Higher Education), time abroad, or other education or courses.

To apply based on recognition of prior learning:

  1. Check the box "Apply with recognition of prior learning" on yh-antagning.se

  2. Upload your CV, personal statement, and any supporting documents that demonstrate your competence.

  3. Your application must be submitted by the final application deadline.

To assess your eligibility, you may be asked to complete a self-assessment test, interview, or written exam.

Selection process

If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of available places, selection is made based on grades, study assessments, or entrance tests.
