Atte Rimpelä

Undervisar i akrobatik

Atte Rimpelä's roots in physical practices are grounded in contemporary circus, which he studied at Cirkus Cirkör in Stockholm.

While Atte's passion for circus has remained, his perspective has shifted from focusing on the external apparatuses typical of circus to working with a body that interacts with these apparatuses. This shift in focus led to the body becoming the apparatus itself, which prompted him to delve into dance and begin his studies at Balettakademien Göteborg. Currently, his passion lies in accumulating an acrobatic vocabulary and methods to incorporate into dance.

He has worked and continues to work as a dancer and acrobat for various companies and choreographers, including ILDance (Israel Aloni), Accca (Clara Andermatt), and PAx (Kyrie Oda). He also conducts lessons that combine principles of acrobatic movement with dance practice. These lessons aim to provide tools for exploring acrobatics by delving into the mechanics behind the tricks, thus enabling individual exploration beyond fixed tricks, and towards dancing with acrobatic mechanics. By breaking down the tricks into methods, acrobatics become accessible to less experienced individuals while also providing valuable insights for the experienced.

The lessons consist of guided exploration into these methods, as well as acrobatic exercises and sequences designed to provide hands-on experiences in acrobatics.

Atte Rimpelä är lärare på BA Göteborg.
