About the course
You gain a basic knowledge of Swedish so that you can be understood and understand others in simple everyday situations. The course is fast paced and suitable for those who want to learn Swedish quickly. Swedish A2 is for beginners who just started to learn Swedish.
This is an alterantive to SFI - for those who for some reason cannot or do not want to study SFI.
Course Content
You will work with conversation, pronunciation and understanding during the course and you will take the first steps in reading and writing Swedish. You also get an insight into Swedish culture and Swedish society.
Examples of course content:
- Greetings and small talk
- Words and sentences so that you can describe yourself, your family and your work
- Everyday situations: in store or in a restaurant and café
- Alphabet and numbers
- Weekdays and months
- Directions
- Introduction to Swedish grammar
Work methods
The course will be adapted to the students’ needs and wishes. You are expected to be active during the course and you will get homework between lessons.
For a good result you are expected to spend a couple of hours on homework weekly.
Our experienced trainers are Swedish native speakers. The trainers vary the teaching and create a pleasant and supportive learning environment. We accept a maximum of 19 participants in each course.
Book list
Our course book, Rivstart A1+A2, is up-to-date and also has digital material. In this course we work through chapters 11-20.
Kursledare
Maria Tolestam
Maria Tolestam är legitimerad lärare i svenska, engelska, och franska och har lång erfarenhet av att undervisa i alla stadier från grundskola till vuxenutbildning.
Maria har undervisat i svenska på Folkuniversitetet sedan 2017, både grupper och one-to-one.
I sin undervisning fokuserar Maria på kommunikation och delaktighet och vill att eleverna skall vara så aktiva som möjligt från dag ett. Maria tycker att undervisa i språk är roligt och utvecklande, särskilt när man har elever in olika åldrar och från olika kulturer. Nyckeln till att lära sig ett nytt språk är att våga kasta sig ut och våga göra fel.
