Prerequisites
This course is for complete beginners with no prior knowledge of Swedish.
Course goal
The goal of this course is to help you use basic Swedish in everyday situations.
Course content
During the course, you will learn:
- how to introduce yourself, greet others, and use simple everyday phrases
- how to talk about your home, family, and country
- how to discuss daily life in both the present and past tense
- how to read and write simple texts and messages
- about Swedish culture and society
- numbers, telling time, and basic grammar such as word order and Swedish intonation
Course structure
This is an intensive course running over four weeks in our school in Göteborg.
The teaching is conducted in Swedish from the start, with a primary focus on oral communication. You are expected to actively participate in the lessons and contribute to discussions on various topics.There will be homework between classes.
You also have the option to add individual lessons to work on specific needs such as grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, or professional Swedish.

Course materials
The course uses Rivstart A1+A2 by Paula Levy Scherrer and Karl Lindemalm (latest edition, text and exercise books). Course materials are not included in the course fee. These books will also be used for the A2 level.
Continuation course
After completing this course, you can progress directly to the next level, A2 part 1.
Registration
Register by clicking the "BOKA NU" button. If you do not have a Swedish personal number, select "Use the English booking form". Final confirmation ("Kallelse" in Swedish) of the course (including teacher, classroom details, etc.) will be sent about a week before the start date, provided there are enough participants.
