About the course
You gain a basic knowledge of Swedish so that you can be understood and understand others in simple everyday situations. The course is fast paced and suitable for those who want to learn Swedish quickly. Swedish A1 is for beginners who do not know any Swedish.
56 studying hours with 17 meetings gives you a full length course that gives you the whole base for continuing on A2-courses.

Content
You will work with conversation, pronunciation and understanding during the course and you will take the first steps in reading and writing Swedish. You also get an insight into Swedish culture and Swedish society.
Examples of course content:
- Greetings and small talk
- Words and sentences so that you can describe yourself, your family and your work
- Everyday situations: in store or in a restaurant and café
- Alphabet and numbers
- Weekdays and months
- Directions
- Introduction to Swedish grammar
Work methods
- The course will be adapted to the students’ needs and wishes. You are expected to be active during the course and you will get homework between lessons.
- Our experienced trainers are Swedish native speakers. The trainers vary the teaching and create a pleasant and supportive learning environment. We accept a maximum of 10 participants in each course.
Book list
- Our course book, Rivstart A1+A2, is up-to-date and also has digital material. In this course we work through chapters 1-10. Please note: All chapters are not studied together during the classes. You are expected to study some of it on your own.

Nils Wennerlund
Min undervisning kännetecknas av stort engagemang, kreativitet, bra gruppgemenskap och jag kompletterar ofta svenskaundervisningen med mina kunskaper i historia, samhällskunskap, "cross-culture", geografi, juridik och språk.
Nils Wennerlund heter jag och jag har arbetat som lärare i svenska på Folkuniversitetet sedan 2016. Jag är utbildad jurist, har även arbetat som lärare under 15 år på universitetet, i näringslivet, på Komvux, gymnasiet och högstadiet.
Som person är jag allmänbildad, nyfiken, teoretisk och bra på att motivera andra, samt att skapa starka grupper med en trevlig atmosfär. På min fritid umgås jag med vänner, familj, tittar på sport, eller besöker utställningar och tillbringar gärna min lediga tid på caféer med en latte och en stund i solen.
