Prerequisites
This course is for complete beginners with no prior knowledge of Swedish. You should, however, be familiar with the Latin alphabet.
Goal
The goal of this course is to help you introduce yourself, talk about everyday topics, and handle simple situations.
Content
- Introducing yourself and talking about family, hobbies, and work
- Everyday activities and understanding simple dialogues
- Basic Swedish grammar: word order, tenses, nouns, and adjectives
- Pronunciation and listening comprehension
Course structure
The lessons are primarily taught in Swedish, with English used as support when necessary. You’ll actively participate in pair and group exercises. Some preparation is expected between lessons. The group size is limited to 16 participants.
Dates and schedule
This 7-week course starts on November 3rd. The first session lasts 3 hours and 15 minutes, including a 15-minute break. The following six sessions are 2.5 hours each and also include a 15-minute break, taking place once a week. The final session is planned for December 15th, but the schedule may be adjusted in consultation with the instructor and participants after the course begins.
Study material
Course materials are not included in the course fee. The course will utilize the textbook Rivstart A1+A2 Textbook (3rd Edition), specifically chapters 4-6. Please wait to purchase the book until you receive confirmation that the course will run.
Course instructor
Your teacher is experienced in teaching Swedish and has strong pedagogical skills.
