Course Objectives:
Understanding Irish History and Culture:
● Explore Ireland's rich history and cultural heritage.
● Discuss the global influence of Irish historical events.
Irish Folklore and Traditions:
● Dive into Irish mythology and folktales.
● Learn about traditional Irish festivals and engage in role-play activities.
Irish Music and Dance:
● Discover the world of traditional Irish music.
● Practise and watch basic Irish dance steps (video examples).
Irish history:
● Explore the historical reasons for Irish migration.
● Discuss the impact of Irish communities around the world.
Irish Contributions to Science and Technology:
● Learn about influential Irish scientists, inventors, and technologists.
● Discuss and present group findings in English.
Irish Contemporary Literature:
● Explore the works of contemporary Irish authors.
● Participate in a book club activity and discuss literature in English.
Irish Politics and Society
Course structure
● Each class consists of two sessions, with a 5-minute introduction at the
beginning.
● Interactive activities, discussions, and language exercises are integrated into
every session.
Course materials
● Provided readings, audio clips, and video resources for each class.
● Group projects and language exchange activities for practical application.
