Daniel Ogden: The Many Faces of Frankenstein

Halloween på Folkuniversitetet

INSTÄLLT

Join us for our online Halloween talk with about Mary Shelley’s groundbreaking novel, Frankenstein (1818) and the wealth of adaptations it has inspired. I will be discussing a number of these taken primarily from theatre and cinema. How have these influenced the way we look at Viktor Frankenstein’s creation, and what can we learn from reading Shelley’s cautionary tale today?

I have long experience teaching university level writing courses at Uppsala, Örebro, and Mälardalen universities, and am currently leading creative writing courses at Folkuniversitetet, Uppsala. I have also given several online lectures at Folkuniversitetet, including ”Looking for Utopia” and ”The End of the World as We Know It” (2021). My most recent scholarly publication is ”Harry Martinson’s Aniara as a Menippean Satire for the Anthropocene ” (2022).
