Henrik Strindberg

Henrik teaches composition and orchestration.
Born in 1954 in Kalmar, Sweden. As a young man in the seventies Henrik Strindberg was a multi-instrumentalist and played in a group called Ragnarök. Their first album was released twenty years later in South Korea and today Ragnarök has a new and young audience.
Henrik Strindberg has had commissions for the the American New Juilliard Ensemble, the Dutch Niew Ensemble and the Norweigan Cikada. He has collaborated with excellent Swedish soloists, ensembles and orchestras. His music has been performed at the important Nordic festivals and sometimes at other international festivals. MoMA's Summergarden 2006 series of concerts opened with Cut Sections. Time Freezes. Strindberg's cd Within Trees was selected Record of the year by three of the leading newspapers in Sweden 2004. Henrik received the Christ Johnson Music Fund Prize 2007, the Rosenberg Prize 2008 and is a member of the Royal Academy of Music.
