Didier Chape is a French dancer and freelance guest teacher.
Didier Chape started dancing in Montlucon, his hometown before going to Paris to perfect it. He moves to Brussels to joing "Mudra", the school of Maurice Bejart. 2 years later he joined the Ballet du XXème siecle, then the Bejart Ballet Lausanne.
After 12 years spent with Maurice Bejart, he became a ballet Master in various companies until the year 2016 and had the chance to work with choreographers such as William Forsythe, Nacho Duato, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Mats Ek, Pär Isberg, Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian, Crytal Pite, Douglas Lee, Hans Van Manen, Cayetano Soto, Johan Inger among other.
In 1996, he made a parenthesis in his career to pass his exam as a ballet teacher in Lyon. Directly he is engaged to the conservatory of music and dance of this same city to teach Ballet to the students.
In 1998 Maurice Bejart reminded him to become an artistic collaborator of a new project called "Group 13" with students from Rudra Bejart school. He creates the show "Che, Quixote and Bandoneon" which will turn 2 years and a half arround the world.
Since September 2016, he is a freelance guest teacher in various dance companies such as; Norrdans, Tanz Theater Basel, Greek National Opera Ballet, Ballet Bern, Scapino Ballet, Gaertnerplatz Ballet Munich, TanzMainz, Tanz Luzerner theater, Tanztheater Kassel, Delattre Dance Company, Ballet Staadstheater Oldenburg, Ballet Oper Graz, among other dance companies.
