The Modern/Contemporary Dance programme
Are you aiming for a career as a dancer, choreographer or dance teacher? The Modern/Contemporary Dance programme provides a sound basis for you who are planning to apply for higher studies in dance and artistic creation.
Under the leadership of some of the foremost educators and dancers in Sweden, you will explore your own choreographic language as well as dance technique and musicality.
Classes in contemporary, ballet, jazz and street as well as rhythm and choreography provide a good foundation for applying to higher dance education in Sweden or internationally. To prepare for this we provide audition training with an external professional jury.
During the year of education we offer opportunities for internships at places like Skånes Dansteater or Norrteater. Through improved technique and better understanding of improvisation and composition you’ll be able to explore your own language of movement and choreography.
Former students have continued on to higher education in Sweden and around Europe for example P.A.R.T.S in Brussels, SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, The Danish Scene Kunst School, Amsterdam University of the Arts SNDO.
The Modern/Contemporary Dance programme is an education for you who want to be challenged into become a professional dancer and artist.
The Modern/Contemporary Dance programme is an annual cultural art education and are eligible for student aid from CSN. You can apply from CSN from your 18th year.

SEK 33.000 per semester
Application
You apply by submitting your high school grades, application form and health certificate. You must submit your application no later than Sunday the 23rd of April.
Audition
The audition will then be held on site in our premises the 6th of May 2023, at Birger Jarlsgatan 70 in Stockholm
If you are unable to come to the physical audition, it is also possible to submit your audition digitally. Your digital audition must then contain:
- A sequence in modern/contemporary choreography or combination (1 minute).
- An improvisation in any style. (1 minute).
- A ballet exercise or combination (1 minute).
- Feel free to show other styles that you have danced (1 minute).
In order for us to receive your digital audition as smoothly as possible, we recommend that you upload the video as an unlisted video on Youtube.
