We will work on the Stone Paper that is a type of paper made of limestone. Its main characteristic is that is waterproof, so it will give us the possibility to experiment another way to use the watercolours. Stone Paper Is also strong and durable material perfect for linoleum prints, keeping the ink color shining.
Who is the course for?
This course is for beginner as well as for artists that don’t know these technics.
The teacher will help you to easily reach out your project even if you don’t have previous experiences. From age 16.
Course content
- How manage the inspiration and first sketch.
- Colour and composition theory.
- Discover material & supplies.
- How paint with watercolour on Stone Paper.
- Linoleum carving and handprint technique.
- Law of the positive and negative for print with carved linoleum.
Form of study
The course will be lead in English. The group consists of a maximum of 10 participants. The work takes place independently under the supervisor's supervision.
Material
You have to bring some visual references on the style and images you wish to work with. You can select and print images from internet and bring examples from magazines, books or your own previous works.
Before the course starts, a list of materials is sent out.
Course leader
Chiara Pignotti.
Chiara is an Italian artist. She enjoy to combine jewellery, illustration and printing techniques for creating her pieces. She have worked as school art teacher and university researcher in Fine Art Faculty of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She have a Master and PhD in Art, Research and Production.
