This is a Swedish course for beginners. You will learn to deal with simple day-to-day situations such as presenting yourself and ask for directions. At the end of the course you will be able to communicate about simple topics with someone who speaks slowly and clearly.
A beginners course for those who study at a Swedish University and/or have an academic background and/or is used to studying foreign languages. The pace is fast and you are expected to do more self studying between classes than in a regular group.
Aim of the course
After this course your level of Swedish will be A1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference. When you have completed this level you can introduce yourself and ask others about their name and where they live. You can understand and use simple words and phrases concerning your needs or everyday situations. You can communicate with someone who speaks slowly and clearly.
In this course you will learn:
- simple words and phrases
- to talk about yourself
- to ask simple questions and understand simple answers
- basic grammar
- to talk and write in Swedish about simple subjects
- about Swedish culture and society
The teaching is in Swedish from the beginning and the main focus is on oral communication. We use practical daily life situations for practicing - in pairs or in small groups. We work a lot with listening comprehension and conversation skills, where grammar is integrated. You are expected to take an active part in the lessons and your personal points of view and are a valuable contribution to how the course is conducted. To benefit from the course you should plan a couple of hours of homework per week.
Maximum 16 students.
Our teachers are well-qualified and experienced. The teach exclusively in Swedish.
You use modern course literature to practise all language skills: listening, talking, reading, and writing. Course books are not included in the course fee. You will receive information about what book to buy in the final confirmation about the start of the course.
To register for a course
Go to "BOKA KURSEN NU" , there you can choose an application form in Swedish or in English. If you do not have a Swedish "personal number", please use the English form.
First you get a confirmation of the registration and then close to the start of the course you will get a letter (or email) with all the practical information, together with an invoice (if you have not already prepaid by Visa card, which is possible when booking online). Payment in cash is not possible. All courses start only if a minimum number of people sign up.
If you are a member of the Student Union at a University in Göteborg, and can show proof of membership, we give you 20% discount on the course fee on most of our courses. Please visit us at Norra Allégatan 6.
You have to ask for the student discount before the end of your course, you cannot get the discount for previous courses you have taken.
